Our booking manager's name is Fred. He's super friendly, and on hand 7 days a week to help you plan your perfect wedding ceilidh. His job is to take as much off your plate as he can, freeing you up for other decisions (such as fruitcake or chocolate cake?) Book the Band

When you've decided that Bowreed are your perfect wedding band, Fred will send a booking form to you to fill out. After that, we can send you a contract which contains all timings, optional extras and payment details. We ask for a deposit to secure the booking, which can be paid via bank transfer.

Planning

We are happy to hear from you at any stage in the booking process. From initial enquiry through to the eve of your wedding, we are on hand day and night. About a month before your wedding, Fred will be in touch to run through any final details, such as first dances, disco playlists or ceilidh dance requests. The band will be in the loop from day one, and you will receive a final email containing an itinerary a few weeks before your wedding.

On the Night

Bowreed will arrive with a state-of-the-art PA and lighting. We would usually perform 1.5 hours of live music and dancing (2 x 45 minute sets with a 30 minute break in between). Bowreed can cover the whole evening of entertainment - much cheaper than hiring a separate DJ or any additional sound equipment!

If your ceilidh is being held in the same room as your meal/speeches, Bowreed would arrive in the space between the meal ending and the ceilidh starting. We recommend you allow at least 60 minutes for the band to set up and sound check.

A guide to a standard evening ceilidh is:

18:30 - Band Arrive
19:30 - First Dance/First Set
20:15 - Break (if there is any evening food, this is the perfect time to serve it)
20:45 - Second Set
21:30 - Disco service until venue close*

We are flexible in the run up to your event, and are happy to adapt these timings to suit your evening. For example, in some cases an early arrival may be necessary to fit in with your evening. For a small extra charge, we are able to arrange this so as to set up with no disruption to your day.

Bowreed can also perform as an acoustic duo, performing tunes from Ireland, Scotland and beyond. We can add this to your drinks reception or wedding breakfast, adding a magical ambience which prepares your guests for the evening to come. By special request, we can also perform some light jazz music to add a touch of class to your proceedings.
