Band Member Agreement

Clear terms and fair pay. Everything you need to know before the gig.

This agreement sets out the expectations, responsibilities, and terms for performing with Bowreed at booked events.

1. Role of Bowreed

  • Bowreed acts as an agent to connect clients and musicians. We are not the employer or principal.
  • Musicians are self-employed contractors, responsible for their own tax, insurance, and equipment.
  • Bowreed manages contracts, communication, and payment collection on your behalf.

2. Fees & Payment

  • Your fee will be agreed in writing before each booking.
  • Fees include all duties, travel, and expenses unless agreed otherwise in advance.
  • You will only be paid once funds are received from the client. Bowreed is not liable for unpaid client funds.
  • Where partial or late payment is received, Bowreed will distribute those funds fairly among the musicians.

3. Travel & Expenses

  • Travel costs are included in your agreed fee unless otherwise stated.
  • Additional costs such as flights, accommodation, or parking will only be covered if agreed in advance.

4. Substitution & Dep Musicians

  • If you cannot attend, you must inform Bowreed immediately.
  • You are expected to help source a suitable deputy of equal standard.
  • The agreed fee will not change, and deputies must accept the same terms.

5. Cancellations

  • If a client cancels, Bowreed will make best efforts to recover funds under the client’s contract.
  • Musicians are only paid once Bowreed has received cleared funds from the client.
  • If you cancel without providing a suitable deputy, you may forfeit the booking and risk removal from the roster.

6. Professional Conduct

  • Behave professionally with clients and fellow musicians at all times.
  • No alcohol or substance misuse before or during performances.
  • Dress appropriately for the event and follow Bowreed’s guidance.
  • Follow the caller’s lead and adapt to client requests where reasonable.

7. Equipment & Setup

  • Bring your own instruments and accessories in working order.
  • If responsible for PA, ensure equipment is PAT tested and set up in good time.
  • Bowreed accepts no liability for damage, loss, or theft of personal equipment.

8. Liability

  • Bowreed accepts no responsibility for loss of earnings due to client default, force majeure, or cancellation outside our control.
  • Musicians are responsible for arranging their own insurance (instrument, travel, public liability).

9. Agreement

By accepting a booking through Bowreed, you agree to these terms and confirm your commitment to perform to a professional standard.
