Bristol has no shortage of great ceilidh venues, but our recent ceilidh at Circomedia set a new standard. This incredible space - an old converted church - offered the perfect setting for a night of dancing, music, and laughter. With its high ceilings, beautiful lighting, and even trapezes hanging overhead, the venue provided a breathtaking backdrop for a ceilidh to remember.
A Venue Made for Dancing
One of the biggest highlights of the night was the sheer amount of space available. Unlike smaller venues where dancers have to squeeze in, Circomedia gave everyone plenty of room to move. Whether twirling through a Strip the Willow or linking arms for an energetic Gay Gordons, guests had the freedom to fully throw themselves into the dancing. The atmosphere felt both grand and intimate - a rare combination that made the event even more special.
Incredible Staff & Atmosphere
A great ceilidh isn’t just about the music and dancing - it’s also about the people who make it happen. The Dan, Maeve and all the staff at Circomedia were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the night, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The bar was well stocked and well staffed, so there was never a long wait for a drink between dances. Their attention to detail and friendly attitude helped create a relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone.
The Magic of Live Music & Ceilidh Energy
With Fred, Odhran and Ben leading the music and Alison guiding dancers through the steps, the energy in the room was infectious from start to finish. Whether guests had ceilidh experience or were stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, everyone got stuck in. The mix of jigs, reels and hornpipes kept the night varied and exciting.

Looking Ahead: More Ceilidhs at Circomedia
After such a fantastic night, we can’t wait to return to Circomedia for another ceilidh.
